Two life saving blood transfusions in March = 4 units of donated blood (can’t be bought in a pharmacy) = living life during spring break = continuing to be able to go to school with friends = Gift of Life for another 3 weeks = Priceless! Which is why, *IF you are able to donate blood, you should! You truly save a life that would otherwise not be alive, like Mia’s, EVERY single time you take the time to donate blood. Thankful beyond words for blood donors ❣️

I wonder who donated their blood so I can live?

Bone Marrow Biopsy

Mia had a bone marrow aspiration this morning. She did great and was smiling when she woke up from the anesthesia. What a trooper! - A Bone marrow biopsy and aspiration can show whether your bone marrow is healthy and making normal amounts of blood cells. (In DBA there’s no red cells being made.) Doctors use these procedures to diagnose and monitor blood and marrow diseases, including some cancers. - In Mia’s case with DBA, it’s recommended to get that procedure done every year in a half - two years. It was super fast she’s just a little sore where they poked her with a big needle on the back of her hip. A yummy brunch helped her to feel better!!
